Does anybody else ever feel this way?

This caption made me laugh, because I've felt a lot like this lady lately. I just wish I had that many arms.

February Updates

This month has been hectic in our house. Nathan, Ammon, and Maddie all had colds. Each one of them took turns getting sick. Ammon and Maddie were also on antibiotics for ear infections and Ammon's right eardrum ruptured a few weeks ago. He woke up with blood and goop draining from his ear. When I first saw the bedding, I thought that maybe he had a nose bleed that night while he was asleep. I was pretty freaked out once I realized that it had come from his ear. The ENT said that it looks like it's healing well and that the ear infection appears to have cleared up. I think his balance has been off a little bit as well and he's fallen down several times.

Nathan and I have been up with sick kids at night for a little over two weeks now. Needless to say, we both are feeling pretty exhausted. We have enjoyed life amidst the ciaos though... Enjoy the pictures.

Daddy and Ammon made a playhouse out of a big box.

It's amazing how much fun children can have with boxes!

Miss Maddie Sue tasted rice cereal for the first time this week. She loves baby food!
Check out this little angel's smile!

Family Pictures in Arizona

While we were in Arizona in January, Trevor Dayley (one of our close friends) took family pictures for us in Tempe. He is starting his photography business and is incredibly talented. Here is his website: http://www.thewayiamstudio.com/

We were very impressed with the pictures. Thank you so much Trevor!

Announcing Captain King

Nathan was promoted to Captain for the Rhode Island Air National Guard. He is blessed to work with incredible people.

This is a picture of him and the comptroller (Eddie Oullette). Lt. Oullette has been so wonderful to Nathan and our family. He spoke at the promotion and talked about how Nathan not only met all of his expectations, but that he far surpassed them.

Lt. Oullette & I each pinned the Captain rank on Nathan

Ammon loves to wear Daddy's hats...

Nate, I'm so proud of you and all you do for our country and our family. Although moving to the east coast has been a challenge, it is so wonderful to have Nathan come home happy after a long day of work. He not only enjoys work but also the wonderful people that he works with. We hope to some day move closer to family, but for the time being we are loving the experiences that we're having here.

Thank you to all who made this day so special. Ed & Bethany, thank you for hosting this event in your home. The weather was beautiful there are we arrived back in Connecticut just in time for another snow storm!

One stubborn little boy...

I've been wanting to share this story for awhile, but life has been a little crazy trying to get ready for yearend. For those of you who didn't know, I do accounting work from home. December - March can be a little hectic in our house.

The other day Ammon decided that he wanted to drink 'Daddy's juice," a.k.a. soda pop. Nathan is the only one in our household that drinks soda, so Ammon has referred to it as "Daddy's juice," for as long as I can remember. If and when he gets a sip of it, it's usually watered down and is diet soda.

Well, Ammon woke up in the morning asking for it about a week ago. The only problem was that the juice he was referring to in the fridge was vanilla extract. After trying to explain this to him several times, he kept insisting that he wanted a drink. Finally, I decided that I would let him have a sip despite my attempts to convince him that this 'juice' was yucky.

Ammon, thinking that he had won this battle, quickly took a drink. He then said, "Ahhaa, that was good." When I asked him if he wanted more, he quickly said, "No, that's okay." Even now when Ammon sees the vanilla exact he'll tell me how yummy it was, but that he doesn't want it anymore. I don't think he'll ever admit that it wasn't really as yummy as he thought it would be.

I have never in my life met such a strong-willed little boy. I know this trait will help him go far later in life, but there are some days when I literally feel like pulling my hair out. Don't get me wrong, I love being a mom and I love my son more than words can ever express. It just keep life interesting at times I guess.
