Ready for Easter

We attended a local easter egg hunt this weekend. Ammon has a new found love for eggs... and I'm not talking about the eggs that chickens lay either. He discovered the difference when he grabbed an egg out of the refrigerator this morning expecting candy. Much to his surprise this egg wasn't full of candy, and it didn't taste very good either. Mom had fun cleaning up the mess and Ammon enjoyed his 2nd bath for the morning. Well, let's just say one of us enjoyed it. I did find humor in the situation though.

Ammon is a choc-o-holic! Easter has become one of his favorite holidays.

WOW! I'm a BIG boy now...

Ammon is constantly reminding us that he's a big boy now (except when he wants to be "just a baby").

His favorite thing to do is sing. He loves to hear his own voice and is constantly making up songs about his rubber ducky, Thomas the Train, Lightning McQueen and other race cars. He also insists on wearing his "red race car shoes" and "runs fast like race cars do."

Ammon is learning his letters and loves to sing his ABC's. He hasn't quite learned the entire song and skips several letters, but looks forward to singing, "next time won't you sing with me" and usually specifies a specific person that is suppose to join in next time.

Here are a few pictures from the past week.

Ammon's new buddy Ethan Adams came over for a play group this past week.

Ammon came walking into the room this morning wearing my boots. I was actually quite surprised by how well he was able to walk in them.

Visit to the Park...
Ammon drove his "boat"

He & Daddy also took a stroll on the frozen pond.
Gotta love the weather here. We're anxiously awaiting Spring's arrival!

Growing too Fast

This past week Ammon started to refer to Nathan and me as "Dad and Mom" or "Nathan and Lona." I'm really missing the "mommy" references. I know this is such a small thing, but I guess it just reminds me how quickly Ammon is growing up.

Arizona Trip

Ammon & Lona took a trip to Arizona to visit family and friends while I attended a training seminar in California for the Air National Guard. Ammon loved seeing his Papas and Grandmas, Aunts and Uncles, and cousins.

Ammon & Pinkle

Santa brought Ammon a new bear for Christmas. Ammon calls it, "Pinkle." We tried to convince him to change the name, subtly dropping him other name suggestions. He was determined to call him Pinkle though.
Ammon hiding from Daddy... He enjoys playing "Hide & Seek." It's adorable to hear him say, "Daddy, [where] are you?"
Ammon wrestles with Pinkle. Can you guess who won?

Winter Days

"I EAT COOKIES..."

For the last six months, Ammon has enjoyed reading books about Elmo and other Sesame Street Characters. One of our friends from Kansas gave him this "Cookie Monster" outfit, which we found again during the process of unpacking. He insists on wearing it (or his Santa suit) almost daily. The costume is small on him (it's 18 months), but he doesn't seem to mind. Mommy hid both of them while he was napping today. Hopefully if they are out of sight... they'll be out of mind. Although, with Ammon you never know. He has an amazing memory.

Ammon's MONSTER face... Scary, huh? It makes me laugh everytime he does it. The picture doesn't capture the humor quite as well though.
Ammon walks around in this and tells everyone in sight, "Hum, Hum... me eat Cookies!"
