Kite Flying Fun!
Ammon woke up one morning and said that he wanted to fly a kite high in the sky. Nathan and I aren't sure where he came up with this idea. After making a target run, we purchased a cheap kite for him. Here are some pictures of Ammon & Daddy flying his new "Thomas" kite.
This picture is a little blurry, but I wanted to show how well Ammon flew the kite by himself.

The weather is finally warming up. It's still in the 30's in the mornings, but has been in the mid-to-high 60's in the afternoon. I am so thankful that spring has finally arrived! Ammon and I love spending time outdoors together. He is entertained for hours playing in the sand. I never thought that I'd be so happy to experience the warm sun again.

Lovely Days of Spring
Ammon loves to pretend to be different animals. Nathan and I tend to be the mommy and daddy of whatever animal(s) he decided to be that day. We must address him as little (animal of his choice).
Two days ago Ammon woke up calling me "Mommy Pig" and proceeded to call me that throughout the morning. After various attempts to convince him to be a different animal, I finally took a more blunt approach and just told him that I wanted to be "Mommy Bird" instead. Normally this wouldn't have been an issue, but we had a planned play date with a friend and I would have been a little embarrassed had he continued to call me "Mommy Pig" infront of strangers. Luckily by the time we arrived to the Thompson Library Ammon had moved on to being a little lion instead. So, I was mommy lion for the rest of the day. Thank goodness!
He is also very curious about learning everyone's name, and wants to give a name to every object that he encounters. We spent some time at the local library this morning reading books and putting together puzzles. Every object on the puzzles (fruit, construction equipment, animals, shapes & fish) had to be given a name. Ammon definitely gets his creativity from Nathan, because I struggled to come up with creative names for him. In fact, he rejected most of my name suggestions and ended up naming the objects himself.
Ammon can be a bit of a challenge (which naturally comes with raising a two-year old), but he brings so much joy into our lives. Here are a few pictures from the last month.

Ready for Easter
We attended a local easter egg hunt this weekend. Ammon has a new found love for eggs... and I'm not talking about the eggs that chickens lay either. He discovered the difference when he grabbed an egg out of the refrigerator this morning expecting candy. Much to his surprise this egg wasn't full of candy, and it didn't taste very good either. Mom had fun cleaning up the mess and Ammon enjoyed his 2nd bath for the morning. Well, let's just say one of us enjoyed it. I did find humor in the situation though.
Ammon is a choc-o-holic! Easter has become one of his favorite holidays.

WOW! I'm a BIG boy now...
Ammon is constantly reminding us that he's a big boy now (except when he wants to be "just a baby").
His favorite thing to do is sing. He loves to hear his own voice and is constantly making up songs about his rubber ducky, Thomas the Train, Lightning McQueen and other race cars. He also insists on wearing his "red race car shoes" and "runs fast like race cars do."
Ammon is learning his letters and loves to sing his ABC's. He hasn't quite learned the entire song and skips several letters, but looks forward to singing, "next time won't you sing with me" and usually specifies a specific person that is suppose to join in next time.
Here are a few pictures from the past week.
Ammon's new buddy Ethan Adams came over for a play group this past week.

Growing too Fast
This past week Ammon started to refer to Nathan and me as "Dad and Mom" or "Nathan and Lona." I'm really missing the "mommy" references. I know this is such a small thing, but I guess it just reminds me how quickly Ammon is growing up.
